krafton® supplied Heijmans Infra BV with approximately 1,900 m2 of 500.40FRP Bridge Decking Planks for the Municipality of Amsterdam for a temporary platform. This platform will provide more space on the east side of the station (up to Beethovenstraat), thus allowing work to be executed on the west side to construct the new Brittenpassage. The platform will be returned to the factory after 5 years, under our krafton® guaranteed return policy. With this return concept, krafton® fulfils its clients' wishes regarding recycling and sustainability issues. After all, the FRP Bridge Decking Planks will be reused in other bridge projects, among others.
The temporary platform for the Municipality of Amsterdam is a project that beautifully highlights the advantages of our FRP Bridge Decking Planks. For example, Heijmans Infra BV was able to quickly assemble the temporary FRP Bridge Deck thanks to innovative assembly methods. Moreover, passengers can now wait safely for their transportation regardless of the weather, thanks to the non-slip and wear-resistant surface. As a sustainable solution for both fixed locations and temporary placements, FRP Bridge Decking contributes to the sustainability of Amsterdam’s municipal assets. Owing to its proper material composition, precise production and sporadic maintenance requirements, our composite has a service life of approximately 100 years. Nevertheless, we have developed a recycling concept to further improve the sustainability of our products. With our so-called guaranteed return policy, we encourage clients to opt for sustainability, while we ourselves can at the same time reuse the FRP materials in new products.
